I am very pleased with the beeswax from True Love Honey. I am using it for keeping my cutting boards and wooden utensils in tiptop shape. It keeps them from drying out, keeps them looking good, and also helps with killing bacteria. It's very simple to make your own wood preservative. I use a large Pyrex measuring container with a pour spout and place 2 parts of wax and 1 part of organic solid coconut oil (ratio determined by weight), into the container. I then microwave it until it melts. Melting it causes it to mix together, so you don't need to stir it. I then pour it into mason jars and let it solidify. The resultant product is also good for polishing shoes, and waterproofs them. You can experiment with the ratio of wax to oil. I have used anywhere from 1.5 to 3 parts of wax to one part of oil. Because the folks at True Love Honey are trustworthy, I have no qualms about using this product on all my wooden boards, spoons, and bowls. It is safe to use with food.
